Please, I've never done this before, but go to this link: http://www.dailykos.com/story/2005/9/2/123356/6666 and read and recommend.  This is a Kos member who has personally lost everything from Katrina.  She needs our help, and maybe more importantly, needs to be heard.

Please, please recommend that diary.

The Election Equality Act

Fri Nov 05, 2004 at 04:57:27 PM PDT

Like many of you, I've spent the past few days bitching, moaning, and crying.  I've been yelling for some Democratic leaders to crawl back into the sunlight and give us something to stand for.

Not much has happened.

So now I'm over myself, and I'm putting an idea out here for your perusal.  We had 11 states that had gay marriage propsitions on the ballot Tuesday.  Why don't we, as angry, pissed off Democrats, work to put an Election Equality Proposal (or EEP! :) on the ballot next time?

Bumpersticker Threat Level at Yellow

Wed Aug 04, 2004 at 09:02:30 AM PDT

First, my apologies to any diaries I'm bumping off the page.  But I would really like to get a take on what happened to me.

Last night, my husband and I drove our Ford pick-up truck to a local Mexican restaurant here in Ohio.  Our truck has bumperstickers that say, "Regime Change Begins at Home," "John Kerry 2004," "BLET for Kerry," "John Kerry, a Grown-up for President," an American flag sticker, and the saying that I use as my sig line.  When we came out to the truck after eating, someone left the following note on our windshield:

"John Kerry and his mob are doing the work of Lucifer.  We will pray that you come to your senses."

My first rally! - Dayton

Wed Jul 07, 2004 at 07:14:26 PM PDT

Hi, this is my first diary, so I'm trying not to screw anything up.  But anyway, I went to the Kerry rally today in Dayton, OH!  Woo!  It was a great experience, although my claustrophobic husband was about to go nuts.

The gates were originally scheduled to open at 2:30, but then got bumped back to gates opening at 1:00.  We - my husband and I - got there at noon, having driven 2 hours from Mount Vernon.  We were going to hang out for a little bit and eat after we scoped the site out, but when we came over the bridge and saw the size of the crowd that had already gathered, we decided just to go over there now and stand in line.
